What does a garage cleanout involve?

A garage cleanout means our crew empties the garage of everything you want gone and sweeps the floor before we leave. You point, we carry. Typical loads include moving boxes that never got unpacked, old bikes, treadmills, lumber scraps, broken lawn mowers, shelving, carpet remnants, old tires and broken washers and dryers that got parked there after a replacement.

If you want to keep some things, we can pull everything out onto the driveway so you can pick, then load the rest. That is often the fastest way to sort a packed two-car garage in a morning.

Cardboard boxes on a concrete floor draw moisture, and damp boxes attract mice and grow mildew, which makes the contents harder to save the longer they sit.

• How full it is. A few items along one wall cost far less than a garage packed to the rafters.
• Heavy material. Scrap lumber, tile, weight sets and tires weigh more than boxes.
• Sorting help. If you want us to pull everything out so you can pick through it, that adds time.
• Items needing special handling. Fridges and freezers need refrigerant handled before scrapping.

What can't go in a garage cleanout?

Some common garage items are hazardous and cannot go on a junk truck. That includes old gasoline, motor oil, pesticides, pool chemicals and cans of liquid paint. We can haul everything else around them, and we will set the hazardous items aside in one spot so they are easy to deal with.
